CL Find: This Geo Metro Off Road Buggy Will Kill You….But You’ll Die Happy

We’ve got to give it to you guys, the BangShift army. There’s not a better group of readers on planet Earth, even though we believe a large percentage of you are technically not earthlings. The submissions and story ideas you send along to us are usually priceless and proof that you are just as demented as we are. Case in point, Kyle Odekirk who lives in the Sheboygan, Wisconsin area. Kyle found the creation below when surfing Craigslist and immediately thought, “I gotta send this to the BangShift guys.” This is thinking we approve of and when his email started out with the line, “If this isn’t BangShifty, I don’t know what is…” we had to click the link. Ladies and gents, we’re looking at the world’s first and only Geo Metro off road vehicle.

What went into making it an “off road vehicle”. The process was complex and seems to have been handled with the most precise tools we have available to craftsmen today. Those tools are the Sawzall and hammers of varying sizes and violence levels. The Geo was chopped up, the front tires were replaced with those from an ATV, and a roll cage made of electrical conduit was fabbed up to provide virtually no hope of survival but complete containment of whoever was riding in the vehicle at the time of an inevitable wreck. There are no brakes outside of the hand parking brake, but it does seat five (or more!), has a working radio, headlights and heat. The headlight claim may prove dubious however because in the provided photos, the vehicle has no headlights.

The stock three cylinder engine is in place and its factory rated 52hp will probably hustle this flyweight off-roader around pretty well until it high sides on a stick . Ground clearance isn’t great but that can be overcome with sheer momentum. What, are you afraid of scratching the paint on the hood (which is the only actual factory body part left)? We’re having some fun with this creation but for the $350 asking price we’d gladly scoop it up, double the value of the thing with a nitrous kit and really do ourselves some good old bodily harm. Lest the ad get pulled, here’s the full text. Read it and keep scrolling for photos! Oh…and thanks to Kyle for sending this along. We love all of you wacky bastards!

Here we have for sale a true off-road beast. This 1994 Geo Metro has been transformed into something much greater. All body panels have been removed except for the hood, saving a great amount of performance hindering weight. The structure has been reinforced by a roll cage out of EMT conduit, welded to the remaining uni-body. The three cylinder, one liter engine boasting 52 HP, powers two meaty ATV tires on the front of the car. Brakes? Who needs them. If the speed gets to you though, you can trust that the handbrake is there to slide you to a stop (or drift around a corner if that is what you prefer). With seating for 5 (or more), headlights, a radio, and a heater, what more could you ask for?

All that this thing will need to tear up the trails is a transmission pan gasket, which leaks slightly. It does currently run and drive without issue, however.
I am asking just $400 OBO for this go-kart on steroids. PRICE REDUCED TO $350!!
Have something to trade instead? Feel free to email with what you have and I will be sure to reply. I would especially be interested in atv’s / quads, snowmobiles, and handguns, but don’t be afraid to let me know what you have!

I’ve got $20 for the first person to touch the steering wheel bare handed then immediately eat the burger of their choice…
