The Mopar Nats were everything that I could have hoped for, everything that I expected it to be, and then some. It might have taken nearly a decade or more to finally make the trek out to Hebron, Ohio, and some of the debauchery that I’ve heard about over the years might have been toned down (topless car wash?!) but that really didn’t distract from what was on hand: Steve Magnante grilling the audience near the Hellcat/Viper thrill ride with his knowledge base with howling engines serving as background audio, the sounds of cars tearing down National Trail Raceway, and the nearly pervasive sound of big-block Mopars barking through dual pipes somewhere. If you even have a passing interest in anything Pentastar, it was there…except, maybe, for a J-body Imperial. We saw Cordobas, we saw Miradas, but we will have to rectify that situation when (if?) we get Project Raven up and running. But for now, we bid adieu to Ohio. As you read this, I’m on my way up to Detroit, Milan Dragway, and one very interesting week’s worth of fun.
