Event Gallery: ChallengerFest 6’s Show Night In Bowling Green – From Mild To Wild, Plenty Of Late-Model Mopars To Check Out

ChallengerFest may have started out as one gearhead’s nod of appreciation to his car, but in six short years it’s grown to an international affair and the way “Speedy” handles all of it is truly outstanding. While there are bigger all-LX or all-3G Hemi shows, ChallengerFest’s show then race format over the course of a weekend works out so well for so many that a wide array of cars appeared. Speedy himself at times seems almost overwhelmed with the response and the amount of cars that appear, but with Mopars coming in from California, Florida, Quebec and New York all the way to Bowling Green, Kentucky, you have to have a good time doing it and trust me, these guys know how to have a good time. When a guy with a sun hat rides by you on a motorized cooler, yeah…it’s home.

While the show at the Holiday Inn was mostly made up of LX Challengers, there were plenty of Chargers, a couple of 300Cs (including Project Angry Grandpa), a small number of Magnums, two classic E-body Challengers, and one exceptionally wicked Jeep SRT8. The atmosphere all day was relaxed and easy going. Walking around, it seemed that at least half of the cars had some kind of power adder and would be very entertaining at Beech Bend the next morning, and without giving away a lot, they didn’t disappoint. With barbecue cooking on one end and plenty of good spirits all around, it was less of a car show and more of a block party, and unlike some shows, everybody was not only willing to talk about their cars but were quick to point out everything that they had tweaked, painted, boosted or adjusted to their liking. Take a look at the gallery and guess just how many of these cars wound up on the track!
