Event Coverage: More Than 100 Photos Of SCTA Racing At El Mirage, Where Dirt Is King…

Zane McNary shot a bunch of great photos from the dirt at El Mirage this past Sunday, after shooting drag racing photos for us on Friday and Saturday from the California Hot Rod Reuninon. Since he hasn’t missed an El Mirage SCTA meet in years, he just couldn’t stay away and drive down to the dry lake on Saturday night. If you haven’t been to El Mirage before, it is the dustiest place on earth. It’s also the hardest place on earth to set a Land Speed Record. No, really! Ask the veterans, and they’ll all tell you that Bonneville is a cake walk in comparison to trying to run fast on just over a mile of crap silt. The pictures will tell the story. And if you like any of the photos you see here, or on Zane’s site, www.landspeedphotos.com, just hit him up.

I am not a very big fan of products from overseas. I couldn’t help but notice a prius in the pictures. What did it do?
