Because they were such big cars, Cadillacs are often overlooked when thinking about high power engine combos. I’ve always loved Caddy power, and have been involved in several Cadillac powered racing efforts. The Cadillac 472 and 500 inch engines were powerhouses, with a 1968-1969 472 making the same horsepower, and more torque, than a 375 horsepower 396 that came in a Chevelle. That 472 made 375 horsepower and 425 lb ft of torque. That’s serious grunt. The 500 inch Caddy would end up making 400 horsepower and 550 lb ft of torque! Of course if you step up with some performance parts, which there are a surprising number of, then they can make REAL power. And real power would be a riot in this cool little S10, because I’m quite certain it is a smile maker with the stock 500 in it.

Just look at this thing!
