This weekend is the Hot Rod Homecoming Car Show at the Pomona Fairplex in Pomona, California. Saying just that is selling it way short. The Homecoming is the greatest gathering of former feature and cover cars from Hot Rod Magazine in the great 65-year history of the publication. We’re talking about the magazine that kick started this hobby and has highlighted the movers, shakers, and headline makers since shortly after the close of WWII! There will be cars from all the way back to 1948. These were the stars of the original issues which Bob Petersen sold at car shows, hot rod shops, and to anyone who would pay for them.

….and this is just a taste. Hell, our favorite ’32 of all time, Phil Cool’s AMBR winner from the late 1970s will be there, too! As we said in the title, over 300 cars will be on display. There are beautiful and historic pieces along with stuff that will make you feel like you’re smack dab in the middle of the 1970s and 1980s again. That’s all part of the fun and part of celebrating the evolution, trends, and cars that have made Hot Rod Magazine and the sport/hobby of hot rodding what it is today. If you are in or near SoCal this weekend and you fail to attend, we’ll revoke your BS membership card for life and make you drive a Honda Civic….HYBRID!

It was on the list but it’s a lean year, pricey from the northeast, where it’s still snowing btw.
