Instructional Video: How to Crash Your Harley During a Stationary Dyno Drag Race

Before seeing this video we held a couple truths to be self-evident. One of which was the theory that you had to be moving to crash your motorcycle. One bad ass in Texas proved us wrong at the 2011 Easy Rider Rally in Columbus, Texas. He was participating in a dyno drag race, which is a contest where two bikes are on dynos side by side, in front of a drag race Christmas Tree.

Just like running on a treadmill, the bikes accelerate to full tilt when the green light comes on and the dynos compute the distance they have traveled until one goes for the pre-determined length and is declared the winner. Seems damned simple, and it really is, but human beings are involved so something is apt to be screwed up.

In this dude’s case it does not appear that the bike was secured well enough. Whoopsie.

As as aside, the man looks incredibly pissed after the incident. We’re not sure we’d have the balls to face him after watching what you all are about to below. It looks like he clears all the bulbs off one side of the tree, making this the second bike versus drag race tree video of the day, which is totally awesome.

Strap on your helmet and press play below!

first words they say “that’s a lawsuit”

Ape Hangers suck. I believe that incident might have been recoverable if the bike had bars that allowed you to use the controls properly. As if was, as the bike lurched forward, he pinned the throttle due to the angle his hands and arms were at, and threw it away.
