We had been hearing about some cool stuff being launched by the guys over at Autometer, so we decided to barge into their display and find out for ourselves. It turns out the rumors were right and the company has some great new products along with a way cool website that allows the user to custom build gauges and buy them. There are something like 14-million combos available (we’re not making that up, the math really agrees), but more on that in a minute.

The first thing we noticed was the new GPS Speedometer. You literally install this bad boy, put the antenna in a spot with a clear shot at the sky and you’ve got a crazy accurate speedo that will also give you info like your heading and direction. This is the perfect piece for you off road guys that have mounted huge tires on your rig and not swapped the gears in the trans to get an accurate speedo reading. Also, if you are running a modern trans that doesn’t use the traditional parts, this baby will save you time and dough. 

The next item on the docket was a nice three gauge cluster designed to meet the needs to late model Challenger owners. The pod is designed to integrate nicely with the stock dash, but it is also able to be mounted low, reversed, etc. They had two versions on display as seen below.

Moving along, Autometer is diversifying themselves by offering some nice billet gauge mounting plates for use in street rods and street machines. Traditionally, the company was just a gauge outfit and would refer customers to another vendor for their mounting hardware, not any more. Here’s one example of what they are offering.

For the 1955-57 Chevy lover in your life, these two new gauge clusters are available. We find these to be 100x cooler and more pleasing to the eye than the digital dashes that lots of guys run to have full instrumentation in their Tri-5 Chevy. There are a load of options with respect to the number and style of the gauges. The below photos are just a couple examples.

Finally, and probably most importantly, Autometer has launched, the Autometer Custom Shop, a website that allows you to design virtually every aspect of your gauge package and order it, easy as pie. As these are custom pieces, the delivery time to your door will be in the 4-6 week range, but we can promise you it will be worth the wait.
