Edelbrock Releases Next Generation Of It’s Universal EFI Sump Fuel Kits – Feed Your EFI The Simple Way

If you are looking for a fuel system solution to feed the EFI on your older car and do not want to replace the stock tank and everything else along with it, Edelbrock has something for you. The company has just released the next generation of its universal EFI sump fuel kits and they are pretty cool.

Basically what you have here is a surge tank that is constantly being filled by the mechanical fuel pump on the engine. Inside that tank is a high pressure electric fuel pump that pulls fuel from it and sends it toward the engine and your EFI system. Because the rest of the fuel system is staying intact, it really reduces the workload on anyone doing an EFI swap. In theory it reduces the cost as well because you are literally replacing nothing behind the tank and everything you need to make the tank work with your EFI is included in the kit.

The company has added a vacuum reference port and offers two versions of the system. The first version supports up to 600hp and the second supports up to 750hp so you don’t have to worry about your mild small block being starved for fuel, that’s for sure!

This is a neat product and everything you need to know can be found below!

The Next Generation of Edelbrock’s Universal EFI Sump Fuel Kits
Make Upgrading Your Fuel System Even Easier

Torrance, CA – {July 13, 2017}
Edelbrock Universal EFI Sump Fuel Kits are designed to provide the necessary high fuel pressure required for EFI applications in vehicles equipped with a low pressure carbureted fuel system. It’s a complete self-contained compact system that can be easily installed under the hood of any vehicle.This latest generation includes many new features and has been reduced in size to a more compact design that is easier to tuck away in any engine bay. One of the key new features is these kits are now adjustable from 35-90 psi and also now include a vacuum reference port. Two kits are available and can support up to 600 hp (#36031) and 750 hp (#36033). The overall height has been reduced by 4-inches and the depth by 1.25-inches, without sacrificing performance.

The unique design of these systems allow them to deliver a constant fuel pressure, which is necessary to operate an EFI system. They’re ideal for use with aftermarket EFI systems and late-model engine swaps in vehicles with an existing factory fuel tank and low-pressure fuel system, as found in carbureted vehicles. They eliminate the need for fuel tank modifications or additional return fuel lines that are normally required when upgrading a low-pressure fuel system. These systems eliminate fuel starvation issues that can be encountered with low fuel level in non-baffled fuel tanks.

    That is clever… but bad timing. I just welded a cake pan onto my Dart’s fuel tank to make a sump for it. 🙂

    I wasn’t sure why I needed this, but then I remembered all of the trucks with 2 (or 3) fuel tanks, and it started making more sense.
