I have a few YouTube channels that I watch regularly, and Halfass Kustoms is one of them. This channel epitomizes the work on it for an hour every day and stuff gets done mantra. Working a fulltime day job and then coming home to work on projects each night after dinner instead of watching TV is a sure fire way to get your projects done in real time. They aren’t fancy, they aren’t show cars, they are real drivers and the variety is crazy. Chassis swaps, trucks, cars, hot rods, and everything in between. Not only does this guy have a great work ethic, but nothing stops him. He knows what he’s doing, but when he doesn’t he isn’t afraid to try.
This latest project is for a friend and involves taking a complete Essex sedan and the rear deck from some coupe of some kind, along with the chassis from something else from the 1930s and cutting and hacking and making them into one. But into something they never were supposed to be, a 5 window Essex coupe.
Watch the first two videos in the series and you’ll see the method to his madness. The second video is where things really start to come together and you can tell what this sucker can look like when finished. I find the whole process so inspiring and I love it!
