Someone Created A Mid-70’s El Camino Limo… It’s Big, Brown, And It’s For Sale!

Someone Created A Mid-70’s El Camino Limo… It’s Big, Brown, And It’s For Sale!

You all know that we here at BangShift love the Chevrolet El Camino, one of the original factory built Trars. And you know we love homemade insanity, like weird 4×4 El Caminos, badge swapped “what if” El Caminos, etc. But if there was ever a flaw with these mullets on wheels, it’s that they only hold two people in the passenger compartment, maybe three if you have the bench seat and wanna get cozy. So what happens if you want to take all your friends on a crazy trar-based adventure?

Folks, your chariot has arrived. Behold: the El Camino LIMO.

Here it is! Yeah, it’s a little rough around the edges, but the ad says that the rust is not too terrible. It looks like they took an El Camino, a 4-door Malibu, and a Malibu wagon and mashed them all together. That two tone brown is so choice. The early 90’s sawblade wheels need to go, though. I’d go with some period correct turbines or slots on this behemoth.

This elongated Trar is sporting the front end from a Malibu-based Laguna S-3, which was the hottest Chevy “Intermediate” on the lot in the mid-70’s. It clearly belongs on the front of this majestic monster.

Just look at the way the setting sun reflects on the giant flanks of this luxurious utility vehicle! If anything, you could buy this thing and park it on your front lawn as the ultimate lawn ornament. The seller says people stop by his place just to take pictures of it! (True story: There’s actually a guy that lives in my area that has a 60’s Ford Ranchero in his front yard as a lawn ornament. He also daily drives a 4×4-converted 70’s Ranchero. That guy rules. Be like that guy, except with a Chevy flavored, even longer lawn ornament!)

Under the hood lies your standard mid-70’s fare: a Chevy 350 backed by a Turbo 350 transmission. The seller said that right now it does not run, but it did run when they parked it there a few years ago. You can probably get it running again for around $20 and about 10 minutes of wrenching.

The seller mentioned that the quarters need some patching, but so do most of the other mid-70’s El Caminos on Craigslist, and NONE of those other ones can shuttle multiple passengers in comfort while simultaneously hauling giant rolls of chain link fence. Advantage: El Camino Limo.

So, now that you’ve read this, one of you has to buy this thing so we can live vicariously through your awesome decision to return this El Camino Crew Cab to glory! The best part: the buy-in for the mullet of limos is a paltry $800. That’s eight hundred United States Dollars, folks. C’mon, you know you want it! If there was any vehicle out there that’s Bangshift Approved, it’s this one!

And yes, there’s a Craigslist ad for this thing, which you can read below:

This is a 1975 ElCamino Limo. It is supposed to be the longest Elcamino in the world.
It needs lots of work but after all it is a one of a kind. It has a Laguna S3 front end.
It has a 350 motor and 350 turbo transmission that is just sitting under hood. Nothing is hooked up. NOT DRIVABLE THE WAY IT SITS.Must be towed. It ran good when it was placed under the hood a couple of years ago though. Driveshafts are there too.
Needs 1/4 panel work to repair rust. Floors are very solid though. Frame is in good shape too.
It is definately a project. I have way too many other projects so this one is for sale now.
If you want something different bring cash and a big trailer it is almost 24 feet long !
Have something no one else has. It gets a lot of looks and comments. I have had people pulling in the driveway just to take pictures of it. They can’t believe what they are seeing. If intetested call after 12:00PM ONLY PLEASE.

And of course, we want to hear your thoughts on this rolling testament to chocolate-flavored luxurious usefulness, so let us know what you think in the comments section below!

  1. Chevy Hatin' Mad Geordie

There was something else big and brown this morning. It got flushed down where this hideous abortion belongs……

I know I’m going to be in the minority on this but I kinda like it. I didn’t grow up in a trailer park nor do I live in one now but I’m a Ranchero / El Camino fan. More than once I’ve looked at my 70 Torino station wagon and 70 Ranchero GT and thought about a quad-cab Ranchero.

Let’s all go in together and buy this, and ship it over to Geordie’s front lawn. Just think, one small adjustment in his particular automotive preference and he could have a place to live rent-free…chain-link fence included.

I’m with Happy Motoring – It looks so mad it works. Keep the two tone paint job but change the colour !
It’s no more outrageous than those stretch cab 4×4 pick up trucks I’ve seen
