Holley is pleased to announce the release of Hays Twister Full Race Torque Converters for GM 6L80E 6-speed automatic transmissions. Designed specifically for blown, nitrous, and turbocharged trans-brake applications and strong enough to withstand the punishment of 1000-horsepower engines, they’re available in four different stall-speed ranges: 2400-2800, 2800-3200, 3200-3600, and 3600-4200. They’re internally welded (not brazed) for longer life and greater consistency and, in select areas, spray-welded. Heavy-duty Torrington bearings and carefully selected stators with high-flow vents and channels promote cooling, a custom-designed anti-balloon plate prevents converter swelling, and each one is inspected during every step of assembly and hand-built.
If you’re going to go for big power with an LS, you might as well grab the six-speed automatic for some semblance of drivability, and if you’re going to make big power, you might as well go fully bulletproof, right?
Just bought an 08 w/ 32000. I could finally ( kind of )!afford it and I really like the 07-09’s. No nannies except for TC no auto climate heated seats etc. Rides a little rough like a muscle car should. It’s heaven every time I drive it. I bought to be my DD and there are some minor things that have to be done rear lowering spring and rear suspensions upgrades – probably a drive shaft but not going crazy with it. I drove a modded up ‘10’that was fully built and 150 HP stronger for the same money and miles but the raw simplicity of the early cars just spoke to me. Lovin’ every minute of it ……
