Well this is some perfect timing! Over the next couple of weeks we’re going to be talking about AFCO radiators and cooling systems a bunch as we finally put Buford T Justice back together in the driveway. One of the additions to the car is an AFCO shrouded radiator with an electric fan. We went though a pretty good thought process about deciding on a dual vs single fan, open or shrouded, and even if we wanted to use AFCO’s advanced heat shedding coating on that mother. Lots of the things we considered are brought up in this video.
The interesting thing is that many people give consideration to the radiator’s job in one circumstance…sitting in traffic. The reality is that this is a component and part of a system that is vital to the health of your car in a million different ways. We plan on talking about that and the science behind how and why these components work very soon. I have an AFCO radiator in my SBC MGB, a small Scirocco sized one with their shroud and fan, it has no problem cooling my roller cammed, high compression smallblock, could not be happier with their product
