Dyno Testing A 4.3L V8, The Mini LT1 Gets Ported Heads, Various Headers, Cams, And More! How Much Power Can It Make!

Richard is back at it, on the dyno at Westech, and testing all kinds of stuff on the Mini LT1. What’s a Mini LT1? Well, it’s a 4.3L version of the LT1 small block of the 1990s that Chevrolet came out with and installed in all kinds of Caprices and Impalas. It’s not the platform most folks would grab for an engine swap, but are they actually a really good combo? Can they make real power? Is it worth changing stuff like headers, camshafts, and cylinder heads? Well, now is the time to find out as Richard straps this one to the dyno and gets it power on. It already ran last week with two different EFI induction systems, and now it’s time for real power parts.

In this video you’re going to see this little sucker ran with the stock heads, ported aluminum LT1 heads off a 5.7L, two different camshafts, and two different size headers. If that sounds like a lot, it’s just the norm for Richard. And as usual, there is a bonus test that is also going to happen so watch and enjoy.

Here is the description from Richard. Don’t forget to Like, Subscribe, and Ring the Bell!
