Dyno Video: Big Block Chevrolet VS Big Block Ford. Which Junkyard Big Block Reigns Supreme!

The Ford vs Chevrolet argument started the minute the two faced each other in competition the first time and it is a battle that will continue until cars no longer exist. I’m a die-hard Chevrolet guy and everyone knows it, so I’m always going to choose a Big Block Chevrolet over a Big Block Ford, but that’s as much about my emotional response as anything else. Clearly both a Big Block Chevrolet and a Big Block Ford are great engines that can make awesome power. But does one do something better than the other? Is one better for producing torque? The other better at producing horsepower? Or do both of these kick ass so you can pick whichever one you like most?

I’m thinking it is the latter. Don’t you? Watch the video.

Here is the description to Richard’s video:

JUNKYARD BIG BLOCK FORD VS JUNKYARD BIG BLOCK CHEVY-WHO WINS? WHEN IT COMES TO MAKING BUG BLOCK POWER, WHO DOES IT BEST, FORD OR CHEVY? WOULD YOU ARTHER HAVE A 460 FORD OR A 454 CHEVY? CHECK OUT THIS VIDEO WHERE I RAN A JUNKYARD 1969 460 FORD (TECHNICALLY LINCOLN) AGAINST A JUNKYARD, GEN 6 454. THE TWO MOTORS WERE RUN IN STOCK (CARBURETED) TRIM, THEN AGAIN AFTER A CAM UPGRADE. WHICH ONE WOULD YOU CHOOSE?

BBF all day long. I had a good mentor that knew the right people. Learned some about FE’s then got a real education on the 385 series Ford.
Current motor is an A460 top end on a ’69 Lincoln block with a ’72 Country Squire crank.

Makes over 700hp and 600 plus ft.lbs. Torque curve looks like a table top. Goes to 600 and just hangs there. Absolutely stupid fun on the street.
