When the Halfass Kustoms crew got a new project in the other day, a 1956 Chevrolet Sedan, with the stock 6-cylinder and three on the tree that was in for an LS swap and upgrades so it can be a family cruiser it only made sense to see if any of what was in it currently was any good. After all, while the world is being LS Swapped that doesn’t mean a 6 cylinder like this can’t find a home in something else. If it runs and drives, at least you know that the engine is worth keeping. And now, here is Part 2 of the swap where the donor 4.8L is prepped as is the car, for as simple as LS swap as possible. The object of this one, like most of the stuff from Halfass Kustoms, is to do the most with the least. So he tends to make his own swap parts, or fabricate what he needs in the most simple ways possible and this 1956 Chevrolet Sedan is no different. The folks that own the car just want to make it a good road trip ride and aren’t looking for some killer speed machine. They want reliable power that is comfortable and enjoyable. Something that will allow them to cruise anywhere and everywhere their heart desires behind the wheel of a 1956 Chevrolet. Since I own one, I can’t argue with the sentiment and love them for it.
