Rotiserries can be really handy when building a car. They aren’t for everyone, but man there are certainly a lot of times where having the ability to rotate a body, cab, bed, or chassis will make cleaning, finishing, welding, etc easier. I’ve seen a bunch of home built rotiserrie setups, as well as commercial units, and can tell you that both are cool. In fact, one of the coolest I’ve ever seen was at Steve Mole’s shop in Northern California because it has some cool touches like an emergency brake setup off of some import car with the e-brake handle and everything so you can lock it into any possition.

This cool rotisserie here was built for just $175 and that includes having some material cut by a local CNC shop. It was specifically built to rotate this 50’s Chevy truck cab and I love the way it works. Take a look, use this idea, and then customize it to work with what you’ve got going on.
