This Welding Table Project Packs Way More Punch Than You’d Expect: Rotary Table, Cutting Station, Welding Machine Storage, And More!

I’m a sucker for a good welding table project video, and regular BANGshift Contributor Greg Rourke knows that as well as anyone. So when he saw this video the other day he sent it over right away so I could drool over it and then share it with all of you guys. There are lots of different kinds of welding tables. I know that sounds funny, since at the most basic level they are just a metal work bench, but the truth is that the design can vary dramatically. The most basic are just a steel topped workbench. The most extravagant are setup with holes and slots for serious fixturing. Then there are the ones with extras like plasma cutting stations, vice and tool holders, rotary welding tables, etc. This one here has a couple of those, and the main feature is a non-powered rotary table that is based on a hub and bearing from a car. I like it.

So check out the video below and see how simple materials and fabrication techniques are put together into a cool and useful welding table. I can imagine this table being very useful as either the only welding table or one of the welding tables in your shop.

Neat-O. I like his editing that doesn’t waste a lot of our time. There will be flatness issues with that, it might be good to have a commutator ring for grounding instead of it happening through the bearings, and some-type lock would be good, all fix-able stuff.
