It is not often that an awesome and historic legacy name in drag racing comes up for sale. In this case it is not just the name but the latest iteration of the car that made it so famous. The MOB was so named because it was fielded by the team of Moore, Oates, and Bradley. While this is the most modern version of the team’s cars it was machines like the MOB that kept the AA/FA scene alive in the 1970s, traversing the country and putting on great shows. This is NOT a vintage race car which is cool in and of itself. The chassis here is tagged to 6.0 seconds but the seller says that it can be certified to go into the 5s if the new owner so desires.

The car comes with all the parts, pieces, and stuff needed to go out there and be competitive. What does one do with a car like this? You can run it at events like the March Meet in the AA/FA class, you can match race it, and you can do whatever the hell you’d so desire.

The engine is a 498ci Keith Black hemi filled with good parts, the car has a Mark Williams rear end, a four disc clutch, and spare magnetos and Waterman fuel pumps. Ed Moore, the longtime pilot of the MOB fuel altereds died back in 2013. We do not know how often the car was raced or where it competed but we do know that whoever buys it should keep the name alive with honor and strong performances.

Not often you get the chance to own a legend…today you do.
