Today Is September 11th – Please Take Some Time To Remember That

None of us will ever forget that place we were when the news started flooding on that dreadful day of September 11th 2001. It was a seemingly unending sluice of terrifying, maddening, and soul crushing bad news that did not stop for weeks. There was also another response. Wave after wave of young men and women joined the Armed Forces, many became first responders after witnessing the actions of those brave souls in New York City and the nation, for at least a brief time pulled together as one. Today is not a day to be celebrated, it is not a day to be feted, it is a day to remember.

Just take some time today. A quiet moment or more if you’d like and shut off the world to remember the day that was Sept 11, 2001. The people involved in all levels, the ones who perished, and the ones who were moved into action that perhaps they didn’t even know that they were capable of. We’re going to do that and we ask you to do the same.

Today is September 11th….Remember

I have mixed emotions today. You see, it is my daughters 40th birthday. She served in Iraq and survived a road side bombing but not without a TBI. After half her life spent fighting with the government and multiple brain surgeries she finally is doing very well. For that I celebrate, but for all who didn’t make it back or perished in the towers, we will never forget you. Salute.
