Tune In: Watch Live Nostalgia Drag Racing From Santa Pod This weekend!

Our brothers from another, uhhh, continent at EuroDragster.com will be live broadcasting live (and FREE!) from Santa Pod this weekend during the Dragstalgia event. This is the second year of the Dragstalgia event and there’s some cool stuff planned like a cacklefest, the first fire up of the famous (and recently restored) Allard Chrysler dragster, a 1970s Pro Stock reunion and our favorite…fire burnouts! Long since banished from sanctioned American tracks, the Brits can still get away with it and we’ll be tuned in to see some of that action!

England has a long love affair with drag racing that got rolling in the early 1960s when Sydney Allard began to promote the sport within the country, ultimately championing what became Santa Pod Raceway. “The Pod” still stands as the quickest and fastest drag strip in Earth due to the rocket propelled exploits of “Slammin” Sammy Miller in the 1980s.

Here’s the full release from EuroDragster.com, and remember FIRE BURNOUTS!

This weekend the UK’s Santa Pod Raceway celebrates drag racing days gone by with the second running of Dragstalgia. The two-day event features exhibition passes by legendary UK cars and bikes, Saturday evening cacklefest including the first public fire-up of the restored Allard Chrysler Dragster, flag starts, nostalgia racing from the Wild Bunch, fire burnouts, static displays, 1970s Pro Stock racer reunion and more.

Eurodragster.com will be covering the event in association with Alamo Rent-A-Car and will be posting end-day galleries each day and illustrated pit notes on Sunday. In addition Eurodragster.com’s Webster Race Engineering/Nimbus Motorsport webcam will be broadcasting live video with track commentary and live timing overlays courtesy of strem provider Doyousee.me so long as the track is open each day.

You will be able to stay in touch with this weekend’s events at Santa Pod at www.eurodragster.com/live.
