VOTE NOW — BangShift Burnout Battle: A Hot Rodded Harley and a Healthy Mustang Burn ’em to the Cords

For our second installment of the minty-fresh BangShift Burnout Battle, we’ve got two guys from Massachusetts slugging it out in very different ways. Mike and Jeff were the first two guys to send in their submissions. Since we’re all about mechanical diversity around here, we thought it was cool to pit these two Massholes against one another.

In this corner….

Stands Mike and his modified 2010 Harley-Davidson XR1200. This video was shot at a bike shop’s open house, where an impromptu burnout contest broke out. In typical BangShift fashion, Mike went the extra mile to make sure he didn’t lose. The first twenty or so seconds are Mike getting the bike into position, then the action starts!

In this corner….

Stands Jeff in a worked over Mustang that runs 11.0s at the strip naturally aspirated with a 345ci R-block based Ford stroker motor. The thing is packed with good stuff like Carillo rods, a Sonny Bryant crank, Arias Pistons, a cam from Dan Rawls, and on and on. Jeff starts the burnout in 2nd and rips third for good measure. This is a smoker!

I’d be a little worried if I had to use a bumper to get smoke from a bike. Is the front brake busted or is it just that weak ?

Just a common-sense precaution. It’s really easy for a bike to turn missile during a burn out, check out youtube for those vids. Lots of kids around in the video you’ll notice.

Yup, I didn’t say we all had common sense. I think they were in less danger in that case because of the longer wheel base, but still not a great idea.
