Big Toys: Mega Truck Short Course Racing From Tulsa Raceway Park

Mega trucks are a curious thing. They are like art in a way: they only exist for the sake of existing. They don’t work. They don’t have any intrinsic purpose other than bringing adrenaline, excitement and joy to those that get to watch the shows that the owners and drivers put on every time they are brought out for a good airing-out. They are what you always wanted the remote-control truck to be in real life as a kid: loud, fast, and just as high-flying. If you haven’t seen one in person, the R/C toy reference is even more fitting…they really do look like Traxxas started making full-size versions of the little electric screamers that you might have had back in the day. And just like the little R/C toy, a lot of grass is going to be torn up in the action. But unlike your gouging of the side yard, we’re talking earth moving on a wide scale.

The Urban Hillbilly Video crew recently put up some footage of mega trucks that they’ve been sitting on for a minute, if the leaves on the trees are any indication. Tulsa Raceway Park hosted the rigs and from what we see, it was a grand old time. Check out the action by hitting play on the video and relive the noises that played in your head while you flung a little toy around the yard so many years ago. Just seems fitting, doesn’t it?

Why is it that none of these, in my opinion, have the suspensions set up correctly. Am I missing something.

Lone Ranger dark grey truck, it sacked out so bad at the start he had 3 inches of travel and rebound was so slow he land with still only 3 inches of travel. Why build a 4 link if you are not going to use it?

Slap some LT leafs in there and save some money.
