By now most of you have heard of 24 Hours of Lemons, the road-race enduro series with gag cars that supposedly cost less than $500 to build, safety equipment aside. Seems it’s a good thing that safety is enforced because, as with all racing, it can get ugly when there’s a crash. And, yes, at the recent race at Sears Point, there was a crash that ended up with one race junker on its lid and in flames. See the videos below.

From what we read at the Lemons forums, the driver of this Cavalier cracked a vertebrae and is going to hurt for a while, but he will be ok. Knowing that he was hurt, it’s extra impressive how quickly he exited the inverted car.
