Light, simple and when geared properly, plenty capable, Geo Trackers are a better memory to have of the small-car GM brand than the Metro and have aged better over the years. They are scrappy little machines that can do some amazing things in the hands of a skilled driver, a far cry from how they were originally marketed, as a fun, frolicky little four-by-four that wound up painted some sincerely horrific shades of 1990s pop culture colors, such as teal, purple, and bright yellow. Luckily, those weren’t the only colors used and the Suzuki-sourced sport-ute became more of a reasonable alternative to a Grand Cherokee or an Explorer by the later part of the decade.

Hell’s Revenge is a 6/10 trail out in Moab, and one of it’s features is “The Escalator”, a steep climb up slickrock that has a line that gets narrower and steeper the further up you go. Screw this one up, and you’ll bounce to the bottom faster that a rolled rock, and rock-bouncing this one isn’t a smart plan of action. Instead, the driver of this Tracker moves deliberately and thoroughly up the obstacle like a patient mountain goat!
