Aussies love to shoot their mouths off about how no American can actually do a proper burnout. We happen to know some people with a wood-covered 1980s station wagon that could play that game quite nicely, but for now, we have to concede that by the numbers, Australians kill more tires in a violent manner than we do. That doesn’t mean that they will hold that crown forever. The Americans are making inroads. Farmtruck and AZN’s attempt was solid, but ultimately flawed due to a mechanical issue. Cleetus, on the other hand, borrowed an existing burnout car and hit the pad running. While we would have loved to have seen him ship Leroy the Savage, his turbocharged Corvette go-kart, over to let it eat on the pad, a little Toyota with V8 power should suffice to bake the tires off. It’s still not quite as flawless as the home team makes it look, but it’s not a bad shot either.
Word to the wise, our Aussie friends: the Americans are coming. And we are learning quickly.
The level of stupid with Cleetus and his twin brothers at Hot Rod is really getting stupid. You need to decide whether your audience is 14 year old boys, or adults.
