Ford Performance Celebrates 50 Years Of Mustang By (What Else?) Celebrating Tire Smoke!

Ford Performance Celebrates 50 Years Of Mustang By (What Else?) Celebrating Tire Smoke!

Did you possibly think Ford was done celebrating the Mustang’s 50th anniversary now that the S550 car has been released? Nope! With the new Ford Performance banner, it looks like the psychopaths that work behind the scenes in Ford’s funhouses are gearing up for one hell of a year, and to keep the momentum going, they tapped Vaughn Gitten, Jr., Chris Forsberg, Ryan Tuerck, and a collection of hot and modified Mustangs from all most of the generations. (There was supposed to be a SN95 or a New Edge in the video, but it scheduled car didn’t make it out.) This is simply a mix of the better types of marketing crossed with automotive porn, pure and simple.

One car in particular that is actually quite surprising to see is the Mustang II. Normally, even Ford tends to ignore them when it comes to Mustang celebrations, but trust me when I say that this is a II that isn’t to be ignored at all: Under that scooped hood is a 6.8L V10 hooked up to a rear-mount six-speed. Yes, please!

My only complaint is that it is way to short! Gimme more mustangs, more smoke, more drifts and more speed.

I’ve never been a Mustang or Ford guy, but I’ve always had a sweet spot for the Mustang II. The one in the video is positively Bad Azzzz.

    Thank You BeaverMartin,
I’ve away wondered who exactly Ford built the Mustang II for. Now I know it was for non Ford and Mustang people.Makes perfect sense now.
BTW is it just me or does the 2015 look a lot like a Mustang II in the front?

Hell if I had one I’d drop a LS in it anyway. I also see a little Stang II in the 15′ model.
