Yesterday we told you about a slingshot powered by a nitro burning Jeep engine and today we’re bringing you more oddly awesome nitro powered stuff! This video is of the Wolfgang International dragster, which runs on a very stout sounding load of nitro that’s cursing through a crazy VW flat four mill! Yes, as you’d expect the engine is 100% constructed of custom parts, but we don’t care, this little beastie is wild!
The company has been running very high powered VW dragsters for years, but as best we can tell this is their first effort that is powered by nitro. The car appeared late in the Spring and the team has been creeping up on it ever since. It has gone deep into the 7s in testing and rumor has it, there’s six second power in that little pancake engine!
This video is cool because you can hear them fire the car on (what we presume is) alcohol, get warm, and then start cackling like a half a fueler when the good stuff starts flowing! It really sounds cool. The driver has to lift on this pass as the car gets out of the groove, but he pedals it and powers out the back end.

Initial start-up has the little sweetie sounding like a lawn mower. ‘Course, once the nitro hits, the sound morphs to a psychotic weed whacker! Me likey!
Just to add to this, I believe this was one of the deals that Danny Miller was working on before he passed. The guy in the staw hat at start up looks to be Gene Adams.
