Elsewhere today you will read about the Kia Stinger GT, a five-passenger sedan with rather shocking acceleration. Apparently, that entire review was for nothing, because the way this Kia Sportage SUV books from the bank drive-through before jumping traffic like it’s another day in the land of Grand Theft Auto is stunning in it’s own right. The owner of this Kia Sorento was simply completing a transaction at the drive-through teller when something happened. What that “something” is, has yet to be put out to the public, but the results will speak for themselves: the Sportage goes full-throttle straight out of the BMO Harris Bank lot, into a ditch, and vaults clear over Newburg Road and nearly over a small car that just happened to have the most perfectly wrong timing in the world. What happened here? Did the driver mean to hit the brake and instead drilled the gas pedal? Did the voice of Waylon Jennings suddenly become audible, encouraging them to make a break for it before Boss Hogg and Roscoe could catch them? Who knows…we’re just glad this one ended up better than it could have been.
