This Poor Alfa: From A Track Machine, To A Safari-Style Build, To Jumping In A Parking Lot…

This Poor Alfa: From A Track Machine, To A Safari-Style Build, To Jumping In A Parking Lot…

If you are an Alfa Romeo fan…a classic Alfa Romeo fan…you might want to just go ahead and hit that back button. This 1974 2000 GTV has had a pretty rough life. This is Illiya and Nikita Bridan’s Alfa Romeo and yes, it’s prepped like a safari rally car. Why in the hell would anybody look at a 1970s Alfa and think “rally”? Aren’t these more like little road racers? You’re right, and it would be if it wasn’t for an incident that happened when the car was being hauled on a flatbed to a shop. The towing company somehow royally screwed the pooch and the Alfa fell off of the back in traffic, as if nobody had bothered to tie it down or to even set the parking brake.

That’s when the off-road build commenced. The car is a mix-up of Ford parts, Land Rover parts, and side-by-side UTV parts. The tires, especially, are UTV pieces. Have you tried finding any kind of tire for a 14″ wheel lately? You’d have better luck at one of those “dig your own diamonds out of the ground” spots. At least the Bridan twins are pretty cool about the Hoonigan guys offering a spot to test the Alfa’s flight characteristics…though, in hindsight, maybe they should’ve done some calculations first. Watch that landing, fellas!
