Watch A Jeep Driver Make A Split Second Save To Avoid Complete Disaster – Wild!

Yesterday, we showed you some pretty nutty video of a modified RZR XP 900 scaling a near vertical cliff face at an off-road park in Disney, Oklahoma. Today we’re back at the same wall but in a much larger vehicle which happens to be a worked up Jeep Wrangler. The driver of the Wrangler does not succeed climbing the rock like the RZR did, but he does succeed in making one of the best split second saves we have seen anyone make, no matter the motorsport or situation. Seriously, this guy, his passenger, and his Jeep were in some serious trouble and one maneuver turned a potential disaster into a great story and a cool video.

The little short wheelbase RZR had a couple things going for it when it scaled the rock. The center of gravity is very, very low to that helped it with stability and the ability to hug the rock, it is pretty light, it has virtually no wheelbase, and it was obviously making a bunch of power. The longer wheelbase isn’t a real help to the Jeep here and the much taller center of gravity is certainly not working in their favor.

The video is pretty short at under 30-seconds but it is worth the watch. It is on the second attempt where things nearly turn to a complete catastrophe as the Jeep leaps up on to the rock, begins to climb, and then end up completely vertical. Had the driver not clicked reverse or neutral when he did, that Jeep surely would have rolled end over end backward down the rock and potentially ended wheels-up with the guys’ heads underwater in the pond below. This is great presence of mind.
