It’s back….the Olds 455-powered Mazda REPU that the dynamic duo of Roadkill have dubbed “Mazdarati” has returned, and this time they have a goal: to get the 10-second timeslip that the guy who was selling the truck on Craigslist promised. To be fair…when we found the truck on Craigslist a couple of months prior, we saw the claim and didn’t believe it for a second. But was the potential there? Absolutely, if you know how to work an Oldsmobile big-block over. The transaxle can take punishment, and the Mazda weighs in a damn sight less than any Toronado ever would have, so unlike most Roadkill stunts, this goal actually stands more than a snowball’s chance in hell of actually being met! Well…it does if you factor out such trivial things as the state of the engine, the random assortment of parts they are throwing at this truck, the ability of the 455 to take nitrous, and just before you think the deck isn’t stacked enough, how about the Arizona climate? Nothing says “please, don’t overheat again” quite like commuting a “unique” build like this between Phoenix and Tucson over and over after beating the hell out of the truck on the strip, right?
