The Mighty Car Mods’ “Mod Max” Nissan Silvia Is Everything Australian Insanity Should Stand For

The Mighty Car Mods’ “Mod Max” Nissan Silvia Is Everything Australian Insanity Should Stand For

For those unfamiliar with Mighty Car Mods, they are two guys (Blair “Moog” Jocylene and Martin “Marty” Mulholland) who are, for all intents and purposes, Australia’s answer to Roadkill. They build, wrench, and have fun, and sometimes they succeed and sometimes they don’t. They’ve been tweaking and playing with cars since 2007, and for their latest project vehicle, they decided to look no further than one of Australia’s best-known exports to America. No, not Paul Hogan…Max Rockatansky. Mad Max: Fury Road hits theaters on May 15th, 2015 and we’ve known for quite some time now that the vehicles, a trademark of the movie series, were way over the top (think a Valiant Charger mounted onto a tank and you start to get the idea) MCM decided to build their own creation.

Two cars were sourced for the project: a Nissan Silvia that was a write-off, and a Holden Commodore that had the V8 they were wanting. We already know that jamming a GM V8 into a Nissan makes for a fun drift car, but they didn’t do that. Instead the Nissan was lifted up a bit and fitted with all of the armor needed for a dystopian future, such as window protection formed out of chain-link fencing and a massive front bumper/bull bar/bridge girder piece that would run through anything. With the exhaust sticking through the hood like a demo derby car and all-terrain tires underneath, the Silvia looks the part, but looks don’t count for squat if the car won’t perform. And that’s where we suggest you hit play and see what happens next.

Just the thing to chase that pussy on the “sidecar” and deliver him to the Lord Humongous for endless hours of anal torture – but I suspect he’d actually like it!

Ya know … there really is a difference between ‘ Functional ‘ ugly … that being where function usurps form in order to make the given item function at its best

And ‘ Trendy Wendy ‘ ugly … that being where some wingnut with an unhealthy obsession with a pre adolescent and somewhat moronic iconic pop culture movie series [ with an actor that can barely act ] makes something ugly in order to fit the form of said pop culture icon …. function be damned

This … is the epitome of the later

All .. insipid and vapid form … with damn near zero function … Trendy Wendy to the max [ pun definitely intended ] … and a blight upon the custom and off road automotive world .

Shame on You ! … First and foremost to the builder … Then to the owner … And last but not least .. finally to you Mr McTaggert ! Thats three freaking days this week my breakfast has wound up on the floor 😉

Damn … how soon till the new ” Mad Max ” has had its run and is finally out of the collective mindset ! Ugh !

I’ll save the obscenities I want to reply to you with.

If you don’t like it, don’t watch it. Movie and this video. And shut up about it! MCM is excellent, just as good as Roadkill but with more wrenching. Marty and Moog should meet up with Freiburger and Finnegan for a crossover episode.

I’m not sure how any true gearhead can hate on Mad Max styling. Taking derelict cars and giving them a new lease on life, the epitome of function over form… it’s just awesome.

MCM are the Black Sabbath of car modification companies – say no more!

I would like them to create a bus to use on my regular route….

So I could get happily wasted without the risk of another DUI or whatever you call it in the USA!

you know what? nobody gives a shit what you think. Firstly, on your bagging of Mad Max – don’t like it? don’t watch it. And for you saying their Silvia is all show no go? They just dropped a friggin LS motor in it….I think its going to go a bit better than a stocker somehow….

dude, why don’t you go troll some other site?
