This Is What Happens When The Rear Suspension Fails At 110 Miles An Hour

This Is What Happens When The Rear Suspension Fails At 110 Miles An Hour

17-year-old Ryan Savage had been having one hell of a day out at Donington Park in his Lotus Elise 111R. He had just set the fastest-ever Donington lap for the Elise Cup and was generally doing very well. Right up until this little incident, anyways. In this video, you see Savage as he begins to navigate the Craner Curves section of the track, when his rear suspension fails. At over 110mph, he reacted the second something went wrong but there was very little that Savage could do as the Lotus hit the grass, spun, and went back-end-first into the tire wall.  Other than a sore shoulder and bruising, he was fine. The Lotus wasn’t, however.
