Yes, we said 10 tons. 10 TONS!!! I am not sure what this beveled gear is going into, but it sure is giant! Which then makes you wonder just how do they make something like this? We don’t push much thought into small things, but when something is this large you start to wonder how to make it happen. And that’s exactly why this video caught our eye. When you see the size of the blank that is being used, and then think about the machining that went into just making the blank, you can’t help but want to see the CNC machine in action that is responsible for making this thing. Just watch the video to see the size, the tools, and watch them in action.

Machines of this caliber are a trip to watch even if they aren’t machining something this large, but when they do it is amazing how effortlessly the do it. And with little noise and vibration. But can you imagine how heavy the machine itself must be? I would love to get the personal tour of a shop with a machine this big, although I have been pretty lucky to see a ton of cool car parts getting machined.
