Watch As Friends And Fellow Racers Pay Tribute To One Of Their Own At Shakespeare County Raceway

You often hear and see racers talk about people they know at the track as “a family”. We do it all the time here as well, but what does that mean to you? Are you just used to seeing familiar faces, or do you come over, say hi, ask about the kids, share in the celebrations and defeats? Does it even mater? Of course it matters, because if it didn’t, there wouldn’t be a real sense of loss when someone in the racing community passes on. Andrew Willcox recently got in touch with us and wanted to share the memorial tribute that the racers at Shakespeare Country Raceway, located near Stratford-upon-Avon, England, held for one of their own, Scot Durrant. Filmed by Martin Holgate, it shows just how close-kint racers are…you don’t just stop what you’re doing for anyone. You take a moment and remember how they impacted your life, reflect on the memories that you were able to make with them, and contemplate how you move on after they have left. And then you celebrate their life in the method in which you know they would approve of…in this case, with a pair of old Chevrolets down the 1320.

BangShift sends our condolences to Durrant’s family and friends.
