Would You Rather, The Big Boy Special: Take Your Pick Between The Nitrous Mud GMC And The Twin-Turbo Dune-Running Chevy!

1973-1987 Chevrolet trucks are just plain awesome. They straddled the gap between a working man’s pickup and a comfortable family truck nicely, they were simple enough to work on, they could take a beating and keep going, and since GM cranked them out by the millions, finding parts is easy, provided that you don’t live in the Rust Belt or the Northeast. We’ve seen them used for just about every possible automotive style, but seeing built off-roaders with killer motors always guarantees that we will shut up and pay attention. With that, I offer up two of the baddest machines I know from YouTube. Make sure the volume is up before you hit play…

1. The nitrous-fed 565ci “Damn Black Truck” GMC mud runner

Hearing the first part of that combination and you’d think you were gonna see a drag truck. And we’re pretty sure that if slicks were swapped on and the gearing opened up a little bit, that this GMC would put a hurt onto anything on a strip. But instead, the mud pit is where this truck likes to call home, belting out a big-block howl that just makes the nerves on the back of your neck stand up. Mud? What mud? It’s like it just tip-toed through a shallow puddle.

2. Team English Racing’s 1200 HP Twin-Turbo Chevrolet Dune Runner

1200 horsepower in the dunes…yes, please. If you listen to the video without actually watching it, you’d swear that you were riding along in a twin-turbo street racer sleeper. The big Chevy doesn’t so much run the dunes as it moves one dune about half an acre away under full boost. We highly suggest lifting halfway up the dune, because airing this thing out at max throttle might be enough to put the truck into orbit.
