(Photos By Charles Wickam) – Yesterday I told you how awesome the Pro Modified class was at the 2014 NHRA O’Reilly Spring Nationals and today we’re showing you through the great photos of Charles Wickam. Realizing that there is some redundancy with the body styles, I still believe that no other class in drag racing has the outward personality of Pro Modified. Yes, there are lots of first generation Camaro bodies, but they all have cool schemes on them and they actually look like a real car to some degree and people connect with that. The other thing that people love is that Pro Mods look like overgrown and mutated Hot Wheels cars come to life. The gnarly stance, the injector hats on blown car reaching for the roofline, and cartoonishly huge engines in the nitrous cars all add to the fun.

It was Mike Janis of Lancaster, New York who took the win at Houston. He’ll be heading into the next pro mod event in Atlanta with a target on his back so he best be careful when he pulls into Atlanta Dragway in Commerce, Georgia. His blown Camaro wasn’t running its best last Sunday but it was running good enough to take on all comers and leave with the Wally, so that’s as good as it had to be. Plain and simple.

CLICK THE LINK BELOW TO SEE THESE SWEET PRO MOD PHOTOS FROM CHARLES WICKAM –
