(Words and photos by Brad Klaassen) – If it’s the first Saturday from April to October during racing season in Oklahoma, that means that Thunder Valley Raceway Park just outside Noble, Oklahoma will be running their PSRA Series races. They feature Outlaw Pro Mods along with both wheelstanding big and small tire drag radial and slick shod drag machines for a fantastic evening of drag racing awesomeness. And the May 3rdedition of the PSRA was no exception for me or all the racers and fans in attendance at “The Valley.” It didn’t hurt that the Oklahoma weather was beautiful for a change to take in an evening and night of action packed drag racing either.

For me it was also an extra cool night because one of my pro mod brothers from the (918) came down to TVRP to try his luck with all the other Outlaw Pro Mods in the house. And it turned out mighty nice for the kid, Brandon Lewis from Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He won the race in the Lewis Racing BadAss 57 Chevy Outlaw Pro Mod for his car owner and Dad, Dave Lewis and crew. The Lewis Racing Team also ran low of the race with a 4.02 et at 182 mph on their way to the winners circle at the PSRA’s monthly series race. The other classes of drag machines were just as action packed with wheelstands all around once the sun lowered and the all concrete strip tighten up to handle all the torque these door slammers had to offer on a killer spring evening in central Oklahoma.

So, that’s the way it went down at Thunder Valley Raceway Park for the PSRA Racing Series in May, with five more races to go during 2014 to determine the Series Champions at the end of the year. Okay, enough of my rambling. Go check out my shots and if you’re anywhere near TVRP on the first Saturday of any month during racing season go check out the chest pounding furry these PSRA Series drag freaks provide. You’ll be glad you did.

See you at the drags. –Bad Brad
