(Photos by David Whealon/DW Motorsports Photography) – We’re back with more great photos from the Ohio Mile/ECTA land speed meet which took place a couple of weekends back in Wilmington, Ohio. The last meet of the year saw a swell of attendees when Bonneville was cancelled again due to rain. This bumped the car count up and along with the Tiger Racing Products/S&S Cycles Street Bike Challenge, we had some of the fastest runs of the entire year made over the span of two beautiful early fall Ohio days. With air temps hovering in the low 70 degree range a relatively high barometer and an occasional tail breeze, the conditions were ripe for personal bests and new records. We saw dozens and dozens of each over the course of the event. With nearly 600 runs completed on Saturday and Sunday along with a host of new rookie drivers going through their licensing process we’d be ready to deem it the most successful event of the season.

One of the other big pieces of news coming from this event is personal to me (Brian) and my wife (Kerri) along with Joe and Donna Timney. The Timney’s have been considering making some changes to free up more time for their family, grandkids, and other stuff that they really want to concentrate on. One of those things includes going back into the competition side of the land speed world and out of the administration side. That’s where Kerri and I step in. We announced at this meet that Kerri and I are going to be filling the roles of Joe and Donna going forward. We made an investment in the ECTA and will work with Keith and Tonya Turk to operate the organization from that point forward. We’re looking forward to being involved for a long time and getting our sons involved as well when they are old enough to help. There’s no way to accurately describe the quality and sheer greatness of the ECTA racing family and we’re honored to be a part of it for as long as we can see into the future. That being said…back to the photos!

Dave Whealon did his normal kick ass job on the shutter button with these and you will like them in all of their land speed racing diverse glory!
