(Words and photos by Doug Gregory) –\u00a0<\/strong>Throw the term \u2018nostalgia\u2019 around with a dozen gearheads and you will likely get a dozen different answers. \u00a0For me I\u2019ve come to define it as cars that bring back that feel from days-gone-by. \u00a0Actual cars from the days-gone-by I see as historic. \u00a0Actually determining which car fits where is anyone\u2019s guess because some appear as old and authentic builds from way back, but people have gotten so good at replicating \u2018patina\u2019 that it can be a real struggle to discern which is which.<\/p>\n

I give it my best shot and likely I mix them up, but they are all cool. \u00a0Anything that keeps the hot-rodding roots alive and in the minds of gearheads is good in my book. \u00a0Speaking of good \u2013 how \u2018bout them wagons\u2026? \u00a0There are tow rigs, pushers, and family tricksters all in long-roof style. \u00a0The supercharged Lark wagon could have gone in the muscle car gallery, but I felt it fit here better. \u00a0That is one clean and period correct ride. \u00a0The Hot Rod Charlie\u2019s Henry had so many neat features that drew us in for closer inspection. \u00a0We caught one with a roller skate truck for a shifter T-handle. \u00a0Hadn\u2019t seen that before and it looks like a good idea. \u00a0The Green \u201957 wagon was stunning and its placement at the end of the row meant folks gathered around it a lot. \u00a0Seems some admirer even left their pacifier on the tailgate.<\/p>\n
