The Friday night parking lot car show for ChallengerFest 6 was a nice and relaxing afternoon and evening filled with barbecue and camaraderie. Saturday’s racing at Beech Bend Raceway was really no different, except for the smell of race fuel and burned rubber added into the mix. OST Dyno covered the cost of track prep for the entire day, giving racers a decent playground.

There were three classes of racing, and each car participating could compete in two classes. Racing was tight and fun to watch, from a V6 300 that was “borrowed” from the wife and proceeded to knock out a Hellcat during bracket racing to the extremely tight 6 Speed Shootout that had plenty of flat-foot-shifting action, just like we like it. We saw a Hellcat Challenger run a 10.92 and a Hellcat Charger that had been picked up and driven ONLY to ChallengerFest lay down an 11.02. And if my eyes did not deceive me, the mass majority of the “show cars” ran at the track. It’s not everyday that you can claim that.
