(Photos from the BS Archive) – We’re getting back on the horse with our random specific galleries of different cars and trucks. Today, it is Studebaker getting the spotlight. The long dead car and truck brand has a legion of loyal supporters and followers today that keep the brand’s heritage and history alive. There are also lots of hot rodders out there that like working with the classic shapes and designs that Studebaker turned out before their production ended during the 1963 model year in the United States and 1966 in Canada. You’ll see a couple of 1953 Studebaker bodied LSR cars in this gallery and for a time the Studebaker body style was a dominant one in the Pro Modified drag racing ranks, as well. Yes, those were fiberglass bodies loosely based on the factory design, but we still think that they were cool as hell.<\/p>\n

This gallery is smallish but it touches on everything from Stude’s line of medium and heavy trucks, to their pickups, to the famed “bullet nose” 1950-51 Commander, a couple of Larks, some Hawks, and even our own BS derelict 1956 President Pinehurst wagon. We saved that car from the crusher and will breathe life into it when time and cashola allow!<\/p>\n

Consider this out small ode to Studebaker, one of the finest American car brands that’s ever turned tires on our roads. From their beginnings making covered wagons to the killer R1\/R2\/R3 performance models of the Hawk, Avanti, and Lark lines they had some really neat stuff over the years.<\/p>\n
