(Photos by Jay Spinella) – The Ring Reckers Car Club of Amesbury, Massachusetts was formed in 1955 at the height of the burgeoning hot rod craze that was sweeping America. The club was around for many years before fading away as members moved, got tied up with family life, passed away, or just drifted away from the group. A few years back, descendants of the original members revived the club and have breathed new life into the Ring Reckers, which is really freaking cool. The club has been holding an annual car show for the last few years and 2012 was no exception. Jay Spinella was our man on the scene with his camera and zapped a great gallery of photos showing some of the coolest iron on display. One of the most bitchin’ parts of this show, in our opinion, is the fact that it is held at the Landry Stadium which is a local historical landmark and home to a semi-pro football team and all kinds of community events. The location certainly harks back to all the great old photos from the early days of Hot Rod Magazine which depicted shows happening at nearly identical local stadiums.

Old school car clubs with history are very cool, especially those resurrected by passionate relatives of their originators. The Ring Reckers show was a big success and we’re putting the 2013 show on our calendar now!

Hit the link below to see our gallery from the 2012 Ring Reckers Car Club Show

SHOW GALLERY:
