(Words and photos by Dave Nutting) – Wrapping up our photo galleries of the Speedway Motors CAM Challenge East event is a selection of photos of the awesome Pro-Touring cars of the CAM-T (For those of you not yet familiar with the SCCA’s classes for Solo, CAM-T is “Classic American Muscle Traditional”, meant for body styles from ’54-72) in the staging lanes. Between Mary Pozzi’s Camaro, a pair of beautiful Chevelles owned by Chris and Lynda Jacobs, a wicked C2 Corvette, the Ridetech 48 hour Camaro, and every other car in the class, I was in Pro-Touring heaven.

What I like best is that while they’re leagues better built than the junk I drive around in, none of these are show cars; They’ve been put together with tender love and care to be thrashed again and again over the course of a season, as can be seen by the helmets, water misters for tires, and the errant soda can or two. Not a single baby diaper or creepy “time out” doll to be seen.
