(Photos by Bob Paxton) – Sorry for that break in the action from the great Day of the Drag Race images that Bob Paxton has sent us. As mentioned previously I had a computer completely spit the bit on me and that threw my whole posting program into a swirl. All that said, the train is back on the rails (as much as can be expected anyway) and we have more of the images you want to see from Bob. From narrow tired hot rods like you see above to some cars that are more hardcore than we have ever seen at this event on the racing front, there’s something for everyone at the Day of the Drag Race.

It is funny how events like this one and the Meltdown Drags start as pretty small affairs but strike such a common chord between enthusiasts that they mushroom and grow quickly. They stay true to their roots by running at places like Little River and they also are about more than all-out performance. This is a full cultural experience that you get at these events. The clothes, the cars, and smells, and the sounds. Greasy old flatheads smell the same as they did 50 years ago, right? You’ve gotta love it!
