Matt Graves, our pal on the inside over at Cherry Bomb sent us some spy photos of the car’s exhaust system, which, not shockingly, will be bitchin’ when done. Electronic valves, side pipes, and the endless potential for hell raising have us hooked on this car.

We’ll let the photos do the talking, but we can assure you that this is going to be one bad ass sounding machine.

9/2/2010, Part 3: Back From Paint and Blower Mock-up We received another batch of photos from Cherry Bomb documenting the progress of their “Disturbing the Peace”1968 Camaro build. The car is out of the paint booth at Year One and the motor has been assembled. What a motor it is! Sporting a massive roots blower, this is an LS mill the likes of which we’ve not seen yet. The car is now in the fitting and mock-up stage. This baby is gonna rule!

9/9/2010, Part 4: Awesome Exhaust, More Paint Beauty Shots: The guys at Cherry Bomb are in full on thrash mode on the Camaro now. It is sporting one of the wildest, craziest, exhaust systems we have ever seen. With more bends than a human intestine, cutouts, side pipes, and probably more stuff that we can’t see, there is a lot of work in this gas evacuation system! The wheels look bitchin’ and the paint, laid on by Year One is perfecto.

BangShift.com sponsor Cherry Bomb Mufflers is building a cool 1968 Camaro. Cherry Bomb ran an online poll for enthusiasts to

decide what the company’s next project would be and the Camaro won out

over a Mustang. In typical Cherry Bomb style, the car is going to be

loud, fast, and pretty freakin’ slick lookin’. This isn’t just an exhaust upgrade, these guys are doing the Camaro

from soup to nuts. It is being built by YearOne’s Ghost Works and will have a fusion of styling from different eras. The motor, an LSx-based plant, will be topped with an

8-71 BDS blower. This thing will get the rented mule treatment, and we’ll be here to show you.

Our first installment on this car starts with a concept illustration, the official Cherry Bomb press release, and a photo of what the hulk looked like when they started the buildup. Here goes:

sweepstakes last year when Cherry Bomb gave away their highly

publicized project Dodge Charger on national television, owner Paul

Banks knew it was time to outdo himself on the next one. His plan: to

team with YearOne and recreate his own version of the 1968 Camaro, one

of the cars largely responsible for the early success of the Cherry

Bomb Glasspack brand. Cherry Bomb’s Disturbing the Peace 1968 Project

Engineering hydroformed subframe and C6 steering knuckles and tubular

control arms will make up the front suspension, followed in the rear by

a Detroit Speed and Engineering Quadra-Link. Baer’s 6S 6-piston brakes

will provide its occasional need for stopping power.

Billet Slot Mags’ 18″x8″ fronts, and 18″x12″ rears on BFG g-Force KDW

245-40-18 fronts, and BFG g-Force Drag Radials 345-30-18 rears.

amps/speakers round out the interior’s must have creature comforts. The
