(Words by Greg Rourke — Photos by Rouke/Chiluk) – The Earlville cruise night only happens once a year in Earlville, Il., and that might be just enough. They shut down most of the town to accommodate the cars that come from all over, this year car count was well over 300. It looked like almost everyone in town turned out for the show, every one of them about as friendly as you could want. Church groups selling hot dogs, burgers, and pork chop sandwiches made sure no one went hungry. The five dollar entry fee benefited local schools.

This year the cars ran the gamut from a 4 door Falcon powered by a very healthy 347, a Mercury X-100, a Boss 429 Mustang, to a 1957 International Harvester pickup/welding truck complete with vintage welding equipment. Brian would have been drooling over the perfectly restored B-68 Mack. We could have spent all night yakking with the car owners, from 20-somethings to well seasoned citizens.
