(Words and photos by Tommy Lee Byrd) – We love Goodguys events, mainly because they’re not your typical car show. It’s much more than that, and it actually involves beating on your car, which is totally our style. This past weekend we checked out the Goodguys Nashville Nationals at LP Field and had a great time. BangShift Brian served as the announcer for the Autocross, while Tommy Lee Byrd fired shots of all the cool stuff. Even though Friday consisted of rain, we made up for it with a juicy steak dinner with our buddies from Powermaster, a bit of downtown people watching, and our normal routine of rental car thrashing. (Editor’s note: US?!)

Goodguys has become a destination for high end builds, so several cars were debuted at the Nashville event. While we love to stare at the high end stuff, you guys know that we tend to gravitate toward the home built hot rods, cool sleepers and oddball stuff, so you’ll notice a great deal of those cars in our gallery. Nashville had a great variety of cars and trucks, from stockers to full on custom builds. The swap meet was killer, the vendor area was packed, and the Autocross area was hopping anytime the pavement was dry.
