Regardless of the media hype, real land speed racers will tell you that El Mirage records are much harder to get than a Bonneville record on the salt. The dirt, the lack of traction, the dust, the altitude, the dust, the lack of traction, the dust, and an amazingly short shut down area all make it a real challenge. And with 10 weeks left before Bonneville, everyone that is anyone takes ever opportunity to run their junk again either for a record of to shake out some new combo of bugs. There are still two more events before Bonneville, so we’re sure that there will be plenty more great lakes racing this summer as well.<\/p>\n

This past weekend, Zane McNary spent a lovely day on the dirt watching the racing, helping out with a few teams, and shooting photos for you to enjoy. It’s fitting that he sent these in and we are running them right after Brian’s “Question of the Day” yesterday that asked what Bonneville racer you would build if you had the chance. Come on out to a race, and you’ll find that there is a lot more to that question than meets the eye. LOL<\/p>\n
